Most of the vegetation in the savanna are grasses such as rhodes grass, red oats grass and lemon grass. A few trees have adapted to the climate in the savanna, such as the baobab and acacia tree. Most of the vegetation have adapted to go without long periods of rain during the dry seasons.

Tropical grasslands, also known as savannas, are hot all year long and have wet seasons. Savannas are comprised mostly of grasses and a few scattered trees. They cover half the surface of Africa, large areas of Australia, South America, and India. Savannas occur where there isn’t enough rain to support a tropical rain forest, but there is enough to keep it from becoming a desert. The climate is usually warm and temperatures range from 20 to 30°C.
