Year 9 - Online Gallery: Term 2

We would like to congratulate all of the students here for having their artwork selected for the second of our Y9 Gallery Showcases.

This year we have modified our Y9 curriculum based on student feedback and a review of our KS3 priorities – aiming to balance technique and creativity in skill-based mini projects. We are so pleased with the way that the students are responding we felt it was important to share their efforts.

Painting was the focus for some classes, looking at a variety of geometric forms. 'Stacked' sculptures were built out of plaster and wire which appear to defy gravity. These have been photographed and edited to make interesting digital 2D translations. There's some outstanding graphic design, manipulating text and photography in Photoshop. Other groups learnt how to build simple vessel forms in ceramics. The little 'Lettermen' was a mini creative project using typography.

Enjoy!
