Research Skills: Reflect on your learning

A guide to the research process, compiled by your Librarians

Reflect on your learning

Reflect on your learning

Before you hand in your work it is important to reflect on:

  • The work that you have produced - can it be improved?
  • Have you fulfilled all the set requirements?
  • What you have learnt?
  • What went well and what could have gone better?
  • What skills have you gained that can be used in future work?

The Research Process

You are at the Reflect stage of the Research Process -

Before you hand in your work, evaluate what you have done to make sure you have done everything that is required.

Take time to reflect on what you have learnt while following the Research Process.

What skills have you learnt that will be useful for your other school work?

These skills will help you to gain better results in every piece of work, not just your Extended Essay or EPQ!

What will you do differently when you do research in the future?

The State Library of Victoria gives useful advice on evaluating your work...

Well done!

Have you:

Evaluated your work?

Made all the appropriate changes?

Reflected on what you have learnt?

Produced a piece of work that is the best you can do?...

Well done!

You have completed the research process.
