Year 8 - Masks and Commedia Dell’ Arte: Arlecchino

A guide to information resources on masks and commedia dell arte for your year 8 Art and Drama topic, compiled by your Librarians. Last updated December 2017.

Arlecchino's Mask

A description of Arlecchino's mask from Commedia dell' Arte: an actor's handbook:

"A black stocking wound round the lower face and then up over the head is a vestige of the full Carnival mask, lending credence to the alternative African slave suggestion as to his origin.  Low forehead with wart, small round eyes."
